POWA’s back with another look at anime currently airing in Japan!

This week we’ll be taking a break from our regular line up to experience some seasonal anime. We’ll be previewing five brand new shows from the Summer 2023 anime season.

This summer anime season is looking stronger than previous summers. With Zombies, a talking Vending Machine and a severed head supernatural detective. There’s more than enough to keep us interested!

It’s the perfect time to check out POWA while seeing the highs and lows of the season. What will you be watching?

We’ll continue the fun on our Discord server in a post-screening after-party, with watchalongs for shows that we couldn’t get to in the screening.

Entry for our weekly screenings is $4 for members and $5 for guests. However, your first time is free! Every entry prior to our break receives a raffle ticket for a weekly prize. We will be in the upstairs meeting room, of Joondalup Library. Our doors will open at the same time as the library – 1:00PM and we will start screening at 1:30PM, leaving you time to find the room and settle down with some drinks and snacks.

POWA’s exciting weekly screenings continue!

Last week POWA members voted in a new Comedy show into our line up. Life Lessons with Uramichi-Oniisan was the winner with a few other shows coming in a close second. We explore the daily life of Uramichi. A host on a kids show who teaches life lessons involving one main theme- Adulthood sucks.

Next week is our long-awaited Seasonal preview! We will be taking a look at some of the hottest shows in the Summer 2023 season. We will continue the fun on our Discord server in a post-screening after-party, with watchalongs for shows that we couldn’t get to in the screening.

Hellsing is up for its first vote this week. When we return to our regular schedule the week after our Seasonal preview. Kanon will reach its dramatic finale and Trigun will have its second vote. Akudama Drive is also nearing completion. Be on the lookout for upcoming suggestion threads on Facebook, Discord and our Website.

POWA’s exciting weekly screenings continue!

Last week we said sayonara to Fruits Basket: The Final and thank you for the memories.

To cheer us back up we will be voting in a new Comedy show this week. Comedy suggestion threads are still available on Discord, our Website and Facebook. Please get your suggestions in before Thursday, 13th July at 6PM.

The night before our screening, POWA is off to the cinemas again to attend the Psycho-Pass Providence movie. POWA has voted to go see it on Saturday, July 15 6:30PM at Event Cinemas Innaloo. In the original Japanese audio. If you’re interested, the event can be found here and on our website.

Two shows in our schedule Akudama Drive and Hellsing didn’t progress with their episode counts from last week due to Crunchyroll issues. So those episodes are being rescheduled for this week. Hellsing will be up for its first vote next week
