POWA Screening, 14th February 2021

After a cancelled screening and a Seasonal Preview, POWA’s regular weekly screenings return!

As a bonus, this is as standard as weekly screenings get. We have no voting this screening at all and are just excited to get back into this fantastic line-up.
It’s important that you pay attention to the current COVID based guidelines in Perth in order to know what will be required when you go out for events such as POWA (e.g. face masks).

Entry for our weekly screenings is $3 for members and $4 for guests. However, your first time is free! We will be at Room 7.101, ECU Joondalup. The doors open at 2:30PM, but the screening starts at 3:00PM, leaving time for you to get settled and buy drinks and snacks.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu No Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train – POWA Movie Outing

POWA is off to the movies to see one of the biggest anime films of all time: ‘Demon Slayer -Kimetsu No Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train’, a follow-up to the recent series by Ufotable.

Our friends at Madman are offering 3x Admit 2 passes and 5x Buy 1 Get 1 Free passes for our movie outing! While the movie starts at 4pm, these tickets will be first come, first serve so ensure that you arrive early enough to have a chance to snag one.

Movie Synopsis:
Tanjiro and the group have completed their rehabilitation training at the Butterfly Mansion, and they arrive at their next mission on the Mugen Train, where over forty people have disappeared in a very short span of time.
Tanjiro and Nezuko, along with Zenitsu and Inosuke, join one of the most powerful swordsmen of the Demon Slayer Corps, Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku, to face the demon aboard the Mugen Train.

Screenings

POWA GM & Winter Seasonal Preview, 7th February 2021

Thanks to the ending of Perth’s Lockdown, this event will be going ahead, with some differences to comply with governmental guidelines. All those visiting will require a face mask. Masks and hand sanitiser will be available as needed from the club, but we suggest bringing your own for the trip to ECU. Stay safe everyone!

Location: ECU Joondalup, Room 7.101

The 2020/2021 POWA Committee will be tackling their first Quarterly General Meeting this week, with the hope of presenting the events and initiatives they hope to tackle in the coming year. This will be a big one to have your voices be heard for planning such things!

Whenever the meeting ends (expect it to last at least an hour), we will switch gears into a seasonal preview of the shows airing this winter! With the anime industry moving somewhat past the strain of COVID, there are a ton of good shows to explore and we’ll be watching some episode 1s handpicked by the Committee. If you want to catch every show, be sure to get there early!

Entry for our GM & Seasonal Preview events are free, although no raffle prize will be on offer. We will be at Room 7.101, ECU Joondalup. The doors open at 12:00PM for the General Meeting, with the main Seasonal Preview starting at 3:00PM.
