Last week POWA had a buncha voting, because all our shows seem to vote in chunks these days. To recap!

Our Drama, “Chihayafuru Season 2”, reached its final vote, while our newer Scifi “DECA-DENCE” and our newer Mature, Horror & Thriller rewatch of “Psycho-Pass Season 2” reached their first votes. Suffice it to say; all passed! Chihayafuru Season 2 remains in the lineup until its finale, while “DECA-DENCE” and “Psycho-Pass Season 2” continue towards theirs.

As if to give us a break, though, there is no voting this week. At all! Whew.

And that’s it for the screening news this week; but there are some other things on POWA’s immediate horizon. Firstly, POWA will be going to the cinemas to see the Ghost In the Shell 2: Innocence re-release in shiny HD, POWA is planning an outing to some Escape Rooms and POWA is making an appearance at Evolve this year. Details for all these outings and events, plus more, will naturally be in their own events, so keep an eye on our socials for details as they arise!

Entry for our weekly screenings is $4 for members and $5 for guests – However, your first time is free! Every entry prior to our break receives a raffle ticket for a weekly prize. We will be in the upstairs meeting rooms of the City of Joondalup Library. Our doors will open at the same time as the library – 1:00PM – and we will start screening at 1:30PM, leaving you time to find the room and settle down with some drinks and snacks.

Last week’s screening brought with it a brand spanking new Slice of Life/Romance slot series; The RomCom “My Love Story!!” Frequently suggested, sometimes nominated, finally in our lineup!

In other hand-raising news, last screening also brought with it the first vote for our Action & Sports series, “Jujutsu Kaisen” – a vote it handily-raisily passed. On this books this week, we have the final vote for our Drama in “Chihayafuru Season 2”, and our first vote for both our Scifi “DECA-DENCE” and our Mature, Horror & Thriller series “Psycho-Pass Season 2”.

Apologies for the somewhat last-minute posting of this event! Rest assured: POWA is screening this Sunday, as usual.

We are back on our regular schedule after last weeks’ General Meeting and Seasonal Preview – thanks to those who came to both, but for those who missed the General Meeting but want to know what was discussed, including the results of a vote to change one of POWA’s by-laws, please contact the committee on any channel you want, and we will make the minutes of the meeting available to you.

This week, in addition to the normal schedule, brings with it some voting – most notably, a vote for our new Slice of Life/Romance series! So, make sure your membership is up to date if you want to have a say on what show gets picked by the community!

Additionally, we also run into the first vote for our newer Action & Sports series “Jujutsu Kaisen”. Those looking at our schedule may wonder where the episode 20 vote for our Drama “Chihayafuru” is at – as episode 16 was a (skipped!) recap episode, that will come next screening.

After POWA, this weekend, we also have a return to our monthly games night, on Discord! Starting at about 6:30pm, this one will focus on online party games – things along the lines of What the Dub?! And Use Your Words. While a microphone may improve your experience, it is not required – all you need is to be on our Discord!
