POWA Screening, 13th February 2022

Location: Joondalup Library, Upstairs Meeting Room

POWA’s regular weekly screenings continue!

Last week, POWA voted to keep watching the very fantastical, yet very chill Comedy ‘Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle’. We have two shows up for voting this week. Members will decide whether we continue on with our newest pair of shows – the second season of ‘Ascendance of a Bookworm’ and the Mature ‘Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song’.

We’ll also be starting a BRAND NEW Slice of Life/Romance/Arthouse show! It’ll have a hard time living up to ‘Fruits Basket’, but we’ll be taking suggestions from members on our Facebook group and the website to help our search.

POWA is also on the lookout for a new mascot! To learn more and to tell us what would make your PERFECT mascot, view the survey here.

Entry for our weekly screenings is $4 for members and $5 for guests. However, your first time is free! Every entry prior to our break receives a raffle ticket for a weekly prize. We will be in the upstairs meeting room, of Joondalup Library. Our doors will open at the same time as the library – 1:00PM and we will start screening at 1:30PM, leaving you time to find the room and settle down with some drinks and snacks.

This Week’s Schedule:
1:00PM – Library Doors Open
1:30PM – Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle – Episode 9 (Comedy)
2:00PM – Ascendance of a Bookworm 2nd Season – Episode 4 (Fantasy, Voting)
2:30PM – WorldEnd – Episode 7 (Drama)
3:00PM – Break, raffle draw & Slice of Life/Romance/Arthouse Voting
3:15PM – NEW Slice of Life/Romance/Arthouse Show
3:45PM – Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song – Episode 4 (Mature/Horror/Thriller, Voting)
4:15PM – Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor – Episode 11 (Sports/Games)

We hope to see you there!

POWA Screening, 6th February 2022

Location: Joondalup Library, Upstairs Meeting Room

POWA’s regular weekly screenings continue!

Thanks to everyone who joined in on our Seasonal Preview last week! We hope you found some shows to keep you interested this season. For everything else, you have POWA’s regular line-up – returning this week!

This week, we’ll be bidding farewell to a POWA favourite series with the end of ‘Fruits Basket’ gracing our screen. We’ll be looking for a replacement show in the Slice of Life/Romance/Arthouse category in the next week. Perhaps even a sequel series? We’ll also be voting for whether we watch the rest of the Comedy series ‘Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle’ or give it an eternal slumber.

Also, look out for our first extracurricular event of the year. This Saturday, POWA will be going to mini-golf at the Wanneroo Botanical Gardens from 6pm. Look out for the event for this soon.

POWA Mini Golf Night at Wanneroo Botanic Gardens

POWA will be having our first (non-anime) extracurricular activity of the year, breaking free from the confines of our regular Library meeting room to do something as a community. We hope to continue with such events every few months or so this year!

First up is a round of Night Mini Golf at the Wanneroo Botanic Gardens, this Saturday, February 5th. There’s no need for booking, so just join up with other POWA members around 6pm, with hopes to tee off soon after. Entry is $20 per person.

You can learn more about Mini Golf at Wanneroo Botanic Gardens here.

Please contact a member of the committee if you would like to ask any questions about the event. We’d also like a heads up if you are coming, to make sure no one gets left behind.

We hope to see you there!
