Our screenings open at 1PM and run to 5PM at Joondalup Library, Meeting Room 1/2 every Sunday (unless otherwise specified) and our schedule includes exciting series from various genres.

2:30PM – Awesome Anime
3:00PM – Break
3:45PM – Awesome Anime
4:15PM – Awesome Anime
4:45PM – Pack Up

All of the shows we screen are screened in their original – usually Japanese – language with English subtitling.

We are a democratic bunch at POWA. Every fourth episode we vote on keeping a series in our lineup. If it’s voted out, the following week enables us to vote for a show to replace it.

Rescheduled: POWA General Meeting 1, Now for 22nd February, 2025

As decided by a vote of attending members at the General Meeting, held on 15th Feburary, the meeting and all of the buisness that was to be conducted at that meeting has been rescheduled to Midday, February 22nd, 2025.

This meeting, intending to go over the last few months of POWA buisness and to discuss what will be occuring in the immediate future, will be held on POWA’s official Discord. It is scheduled to commence at midday on the 22nd, and is estimated to run for approximatly an hour.

If you are an active POWA member, you are encouraged to join the meeting, though if you are not a member you must attain an invitation from the POWA Committee to join.

The meeting will be held in one of the Discord’s voice chat rooms – you may bring your mic to the meeting, just in case you have any questions to raise, though a keyboard and the capacity to type is also a good way to get your questions across.

POWA Screening, 16th February, 2025

Location: Joondalup Library, Upstairs Meeting Room

POWA tears towards the end of a few of the series in our lineup, with this week bringing the finale of 86 Part 2 – a series that we started watching nearly three years ago, at this point! So, perhaps it’s time to start casting your thoughts onto a replacement Mature/Horror/Thriller series for its slot. While you’re browsing around for something suitable, why not also start thinking about a replacement for our Action & Sports series, Jujutsu Kaisen, as that series has its second last episode this week?

POWA also decides whether or not we need to seek a new Comedy series if we decide to vote out “My Love Story!!” as it has its final, episode 20 vote this week. It’s up to the community to decide!

Entry for our weekly screenings is $4 for members and $5 for guests. However, your first time is free! Every entry prior to our break receives a raffle ticket for a weekly prize. We will be in the upstairs meeting room of the Joondalup Library. Our meeting will start at the same time as the library opens – 1:00PM – and we will start watching anime at 1:30PM, leaving you time to find the room and settle down with some drinks and snacks.
