Winter gives way to spring… or at least it does in the northern hemisphere, and as their planetary axial tilt brings warmer days, it also brings them a whole new season of anime!

And this week brings POWA a preview of some of those now airing anime!

Some of the most visible shows this season range from hugely popular sequels to hugely popular franchises, remakes of series from years in the past, a colourful range of new adaptations, new original works and even a few of the seemingly prerequisite fantasy Isekais.

After this screening, too, the seasonal preview continues with POWA’s After Party! Shows that we couldn’t fit in the screenings lineup for whatever reason will get a chance to appear on our screens at home with a continued watchalong, hosted on POWA’s Discord – starting at around 6pm. If you are yet to join POWA’s discord, but want to, you can join the Discord with the following link: discord.gg/jF4A4tn

Entry for our weekly screenings is $4 for members and $5 for guests. However, your first time is free! Every entry prior to our break receives a raffle ticket for a weekly prize. We will be in the upstairs meeting room, of Joondalup Library. Our doors will open at the same time as the library – 1:00PM and we will start screening at 1:30PM, leaving you time to find the room and settle down with some drinks and snacks.

Last week at POWA only had voting for our Action series, Lycoris Recoil, where the series passed its second and final vote, now to remain in our lineup until its conclusion.

And if you thought that was too little voting, well, this week’s screening has… no voting at all! Yep, all of our ongoing series have aligned in such a way that this week brings nothing democratic to you; so your shoulders get a rest!

It is worth noting that this month will bring with it our second Quarterly General Meeting, on Saturday the 20^th of April, followed by the Spring 2024 Seasonal Preview on Sunday the 21st of April. We won’t go into the details in this event; these will have their own events go up before long, and they will have all the details you would want to know about where and when and how they will be held. Keep an eye out!

Entry for our weekly screenings is $5 for members and $6 for guests – However, your first time is free! Every entry prior to our break receives a raffle ticket for a weekly prize. We will be in the upstairs meeting rooms of the City of Joondalup Library. Our doors will open at the same time as the library – 1:00PM – and we will start screening at 1:30PM, leaving you time to find the room and settle down with some drinks and snacks.

We hope to see you there!

Everyone have a good Easter weekend? Not enough Anime, you say? Well, this weekend POWA’s back on so maybe this one will make up for it!

After a week off, we are back at the Joondalup Library with our continuing lineup of series, including our new Comedy – voted upon by the POWA Community last screening – My Senpai is Annoying!

Last week also saw voting on three of our continuing series – our Fantasy in Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke’s Mansion had its first vote, our Drama in Chihayafuru Season 2 had its second and final vote, and our Mature, Horror & Thriller in xxxHolic had its second (but not final) vote… and, long story short, they all passed!

This week brings us only one vote; our Action series Lycoris Recoil has its second and final vote this week.
