Special thanks to those who came to POWA’s AGM and Seasonal Previews the past weeks; but now it’s time for POWA’s regular scheduled shows to resume!

New Committee is starting strong with a NEW Slice Of Life/Romance genre slot series for POWA Members to vote on – and if you’ve got a good idea for a show that’s just the most perfect fit for the slot, there is still time to suggest a series – at least, before Thursday, 9^th November at 6pm, which is when the Discord thread, Facebook page and Website stop taking suggestions!

Please note that this month POWA will not be meeting on Sunday, 26^th November as the Joondalup Library is closed to us because of the Joondalup Motoring Festival.

Entry for our weekly screenings is $4 for members and $5 for guests – However, your first time is free! Every entry prior to our break receives a raffle ticket for a weekly prize. We will be in the upstairs meeting room, of Joondalup Library. Our doors will open at the same time as the library – 1:00PM and we will start screening at 1:30PM, leaving you time to find the room and settle down with some drinks and snacks.

POWA’s back with another look at anime currently airing in Japan!

This week we’ll be taking a break from our regular line up to experience some seasonal anime. We’ll be previewing five brand new shows from the Fall/Autumn 2023 anime season.

We can expect a guy who likes beating bad VR games; An Elf mage with a poor sense of time; And an undead guy called Andy, who can regenerate.

It’s the perfect time to check out POWA while seeing the highs and lows of the season. What will you be watching?

We’ll continue the fun on our Discord server in a post-screening after party, with watchalongs for shows that we couldn’t get to in the screening. Check out POWA’s Discord: discord.gg/jF4A4tn

Last week we voted to keep our Action show, Astra Lost in Space. We also voted in a new Mature show, Basilisk.

This week our Comedy show, Uramichi-Oniisan is on its final episode. We are now looking for a Slice of Life/Romance show to replace it, in the coming weeks.

We have the AGM and committee election next week. Which will take up most the screening time. It won’t be a regular screening and members only. The week after will be our anticipated, Fall 2023 seasonal preview.

You may still apply for committee by contacting us via email at powaclub@gmail.com. Please email us by midnight October 28, to confirm your nomination.

You may also nominate on the day, as a last call. If you’re unable to attend, you may vote and apply in absentia via email.
