POWA seeks a new show this week! SpyxFamily, having aired in two separate parts, means that after we reached episode 12 this past week that it is time to give another Action & Sports series a shot in our lineup!

While POWA flexes shoulders for that run of voting, we do get some warmups in two continuation votes – Bartender: The Glass of God, our recently elected Drama, reaches its first, episode 4 vote, while our Scifi series, ID:Invaded, reaches its final, Episode 12 vote. As always, check memberships prior to the screening just in case you need to renew!

Entry for our weekly screenings is $4 for members and $5 for guests – However, your first time is free! Every entry prior to our break receives a raffle ticket for a weekly prize. We will be in the upstairs meeting rooms of the City of Joondalup Library. Our doors will open at the same time as the library – 1:00PM – and we will start screening at 1:30PM, leaving you time to find the room and settle down with some drinks and snacks.

Did everyone enjoy the Summer seasonal preview? It seems like the general mood is that sleeper hits might abound this season! 

But for the moment, this event is… mostly… about our regular lineup. 

To recap last time we screened – our Comedy, Kakushigoto had its second (And last) vote, which it passed, and the tonal opposite, our Mature, Horror & Thriller, Vinland Saga, reached its 12 episode and its roughly half-way point, got voted on, and passed. This week to come brings no voting, though… but it is the Finale of Part 1 of SpyxFamily! Since it aired in two separate halves, POWA treats it as two separate seasons – meaning that we get to vote on a new Action & Sports series – or to continue SpyxFamily, should that be what the POWA membership wishes!

Now, there’s a bit of a bonus this week – due to unforeseen circumstances, POWA was unable to host any kind of post-seasonal-preview “After Party” that is usually hosted online, after POWA’s seasonal preview screenings, where we group watch some more of the shows we couldn’t watch at POWA itself. After a quick poll, that “After Party” will be hosted after this week’s event instead – if you’re interested, make sure you join our Discord ahead of time and join the shared stream – no need to buy your own way into a streaming service if you don’t want to!
