POWA is off to the movies to see one of the biggest anime films of all time: ‘Demon Slayer -Kimetsu No Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train’, a follow-up to the recent series by Ufotable.

Our friends at Madman are offering 3x Admit 2 passes and 5x Buy 1 Get 1 Free passes for our movie outing! While the movie starts at 4pm, these tickets will be first come, first serve so ensure that you arrive early enough to have a chance to snag one.

Movie Synopsis:
Tanjiro and the group have completed their rehabilitation training at the Butterfly Mansion, and they arrive at their next mission on the Mugen Train, where over forty people have disappeared in a very short span of time.
Tanjiro and Nezuko, along with Zenitsu and Inosuke, join one of the most powerful swordsmen of the Demon Slayer Corps, Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku, to face the demon aboard the Mugen Train.

POWA GM & Winter Seasonal Preview, 7th February 2021

Thanks to the ending of Perth’s Lockdown, this event will be going ahead, with some differences to comply with governmental guidelines. All those visiting will require a face mask. Masks and hand sanitiser will be available as needed from the club, but we suggest bringing your own for the trip to ECU. Stay safe everyone!

The 2020/2021 POWA Committee will be tackling their first Quarterly General Meeting this week, with the hope of presenting the events and initiatives they hope to tackle in the coming year. This will be a big one to have your voices be heard for planning such things!

Whenever the meeting ends (expect it to last at least an hour), we will switch gears into a seasonal preview of the shows airing this winter! With the anime industry moving somewhat past the strain of COVID, there are a ton of good shows to explore and we’ll be watching some episode 1s handpicked by the Committee. If you want to catch every show, be sure to get there early!

Entry for our GM & Seasonal Preview events are free, although no raffle prize will be on offer. We will be at Room 7.101, ECU Joondalup. The doors open at 12:00PM for the General Meeting, with the main Seasonal Preview starting at 3:00PM.

Screenings

POWA and the New Perth COVID Lockdown

At 6pm tonight, the Perth/Peel region will be going into a stay at home lock down in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Read more about it here.

While POWA has had to cancel today’s event, currently the lock down is effective until Friday, February 5th. As such, POWA will not currently be going into hiatus.

We will be advertising an event scheduled for next Sunday, as usual. However, do note it will be tentative and based entirely around whether the lock down is ended or extended. This event will be the very important Quarterly GM and Seasonal Preview, so if we are unable to host it in person, it will be transferred to an online event, hosted on our Discord.

Our planned theatre outing will not be able to go ahead until cinemas reopen. Our planned Board Games event will still be happening until further notice on the length of the lock down.
