POWA Anime Club Joondalup WA

This week’s got a bit of a bit of sadness in its schedule, because this week has the final episode of one of the more popular Anime series around – our Cultural/Historical series “The Apothecary Diaries” reaches its final episode this week! So, time for POWA to start the debate around a new show to fill its spot in our schedule…

Less of a debate was last week’s vote for our Action & Sports series “Spy x Family”, which snuck past its second vote with just as much confidence as its own protagonists. 

This week – in addition to the final episode of Apothecary Diaries – does also bring with it the second (and final) vote for our Sci-fi series, ID:Invaded. The mystery in that show is starting to ramp up – but has it got its hooks into enough of POWA’s members to get through? 

Please note: SupaNova is coming to Perth the weekend of the 28th and 29th of this month, and as is tradition when large conventions come to town, POWA will not be screening on that weekend – the 29th – so as to stop people having to decide to skip out on a convention to attend POWA. Enjoy the convention-slash-sunday off!

Entry for our weekly screenings is $4 for members and $5 for guests – However, your first time is free! Every entry prior to our break receives a raffle ticket for a weekly prize. We will be in the upstairs meeting rooms of the City of Joondalup Library. Our doors will open at the same time as the library – 1:00PM – and we will start screening at 1:30PM, leaving you time to find the room and settle down with some drinks and snacks.

A bit more regularity in POWA’s scheduling returned to our meetings this past weekend, which means that POWA finally managed to have some voting done! 

Our newest show in our lineup, our Comedy “Kakushigoto” had its first, episode 4 vote this past week, and alongside our Mature, Horror & Thriller series “Vinland Saga’s” second, episode 8 vote, survived their tribulations, sticking into our lineup for the foreseeable future.

This week also brings some voting, with the second, episode 8 vote of our Action & Sports series, “Spy X Family”. So, membership checks abound, I’m sure, as everyone will want to have a say in whether or not it remains in our lineup!

Event Location: Event Cinemas Innaloo

After another poll, its time for POWA to hit the cinemas again – this time with the film preview for Season 2 of last year’s hit Dan Da Dan in EVIL EYE!

Through our polling our time and location was determined; quite handily, POWA has chosen to hit the 4:30pm session of the film at Event Cinemas Innaloo, on Sautday, 7th of June!

And, to top it all off, our good friends at SugoiCo have offered POWA’s membership a pair of Admit 2 passes for our members to use!

Every usual film outing mention applies; POWA is not able to guarantee that there are seats in the cinema, passes or no, so depending on the busyness of the film and the tardiness of anyones arrival, people may miss out on a seat if the cinema is packed. If you are particularly worried, perhaps prepurchase your tickets?

Still, its worth showing up earlier than the scheduled 4:30pm start – you gotta make time to find the group, peruse the snack bar, cry about having to spend so much at the snack bar, be consoled regarding the purchase at the snackbar and then tell the group what happened in Dan Da Dan season 1 if they have not yet watched it. A terrific way to organise everything on the night – finding groups, for example – is to check our official Discord. Usually people are chatting there trying to find each other.
