DELAYED: POWA Spring Seasonal Preview, 13th April, 2025

This event has been cancelled! There is some sort of Concert/Car Festival/Raffle/Picnic on in the centre of Joondalup, which makes it hard to organise stuff.

Location: Joondalup Library, Upstairs Meeting Room

Spring is upon… someone, out there, probably, but not us, but it does mean that it’s time for a Spring Seasonal Preview! 

Weird opening line aside, this screening will be bringing a selection of shows from the 2025 Spring season of Anime to your viewing pleasure!

There’s, as always, a bit of a mixture of genres and show types – ranging from Anime adaptations of Edwardian-Era classic novels (No, really!) to shows that will likely have you looking away from the screen at your phones… to check Flight Centre for travel options to Japan just to check out some of the locations in the show.

There’s even talk of an anime where a guy dies and then wakes up in a fantasy world! 

And while POWA can’t bring all that is to air to this screening, it is still a good chance to get an idea of what’s on offer in the Spring 2025 season.

Entry for our weekly screenings is $4 for members and $5 for guests. However, your first time is free! Every entry prior to our break receives a raffle ticket for a weekly prize. We will be in the upstairs meeting room of the Joondalup Library. Our meeting will start at the same time as the library opens – 1:00PM – and we will start watching anime at 1:30PM, leaving you time to find the room and settle down with some drinks and snacks.

POWA GM2, 12th April 2025

POWA Will be hosting out second General Meeting of the 2025 year this weekend.

At 3:00pm on Saturday the 12th of April, POWA invites all active members to join the committee in an overview of what has occured in POWA’s first quarter of the year. This meeting will be held digitally, using our official Discord group.

All you need to join is any Discord-enabled device and a Discord account. One does not need anything other than some sort of audio output device so you can hear our lovely voices.

It is reminded that this meeting is members only – if you are not a POWA member, but wish to join the meeting, you will need to attain permission from the POWA Committee. Contact us on any of our socials or via email to learn more of that process.

Coming to a Perth Cinema and POWA outing soon: “COLORFUL STAGE! The Movie: A Miku Who can’t Sing!”

I know some of you have been looking forward to this film, so im very happy to announce that our friends over at Sugoi Co have offered POWA 2x Admit 2 passes for our use!

POWA was always going to make an outing to go see the first feature film featuring the global sensation Hatsune Miku, but now if youre interested in getting a free entry on Sugoi Co’s generosity, might be a good time to keep an eye on our socials for the upcoming poll.

When the cinemas post the times, the poll will be posted, and the time picked by the community. Keep an eye out!
