POWA Anime Club Joondalup WA

Last week POWA had its halfway, episode 12 vote for our Slice of Life/Romance series, “My Love STORY!!”, which it passed.

This week has some more, too! First, our Action & Sports series “Jujutsu Kaisen” reaches episode 16, and our Mature, Horror & Thriller series “86 Part 2” reaches its first – episode 4 – vote!

And so we ask, as always, that all those who wish to have a say in what shows are in our lineup to check whether or not their POWA membership is up to date! 

It is also a good time to check your calendars for these following, very important POWA dates: Firstly, our final screening of 2024 is 15th of December – but dont think youll be missing us for too long, because the second date, January 19th 2025, is the date that POWA returns! Save the dates and dont rock up to the Library on the 22nd of December because youll not get much anime.

Entry for our weekly screenings is $4 for members and $5 for guests – However, your first time is free! Every entry prior to our break receives a raffle ticket for a weekly prize. We will be in the upstairs meeting rooms of the City of Joondalup Library. Our doors will open at the same time as the library – 1:00PM – and we will start screening at 1:30PM, leaving you time to find the room and settle down with some drinks and snacks.

Last week we had a Fantasy slot that needed filling! After all the suggestions were counted and the nominations brought forward, POWA has landed on the recent Hack-n-slash-but-not-zap-and-blast series “Wistoria: Wand and Sword”! 

Only slight issue is, POWA is going to have a bit of a break halfway through that series – and all our others, too, as POWA will be starting its Christmas break on December 15th! 

Don’t worry, though, POWA already has a planned return date – we are gonna be back, screening at the Joondalup Library, January 19th 2025!

So, while youre off writing that down in your calendars, you should also ask: “Do we continue to watch “My Love Story!””? It would be good practice, as this week brings its halfway point on episode 12! So, check those memberships, make sure you aren’t caught out when we poll once again on our ongoing series.

Back to our regularly scheduled screenings as POWA races towards the end of the year. 

First of all, two big thanks – first, to those who came to POWA’s Fall seasonal preview, and second of all, thanks to those who came to POWA’s AGM and Election last weekend. 

As always, it is worth stating that if you were unable to attend POWA’s AGM but still want to know what happened, you can request the minutes of the meeting, or simply get in contact with POWA’s committee for a bit of a clue-in.  

Those are the past, though – what about this screening? Well, last screening we did vote in a new series – actually, a returning series, as POWA has voted in the sequel to “86” – in “86 Part 2” as our new Mature, Horror & Thriller series! 

This week also brings with it a brand spanking new Fantasy series – what one, we don’t yet know, as only those with active POWA membership get to really have a say in what gets voted in this weekend! 

Finally, POWA has a final screening date for you – POWA will end its 2024 year on December 15^th! We will be back in the new year, though precisely what day is still being planned. Please keep an eye on all your social feeds for more information!
