Godzilla Minus One Film Outing, 2nd December 2023.

POWA is off to the movies to see nothing less than the king of monsters himself, Godzilla, on the big screen in his first Japanese appearance since ‘Shin-Godzilla’ in 2016, in Godzilla Minus One.

The outing time and location was chosen by the POWA community, and the polled result landed on Saturday, the 2^nd of December, 3:45pm, Innaloo Event Cinema.

For this outing, the film’s distributor Sugoi.co has generously offered 2x Admit 2 passes, meaning that – on a first come, first served basis – your entry may be free.

As we cannot book ahead, we cannot guarantee seats in the cinema. Please ensure that you arrive early enough to purchase a seat, snacks and orient yourselves!

This screening of the film will be in its original Japanese, with English Subtitles.

POWA Screening, 3rd December 2023

POWA enters the last month of 2023 with a somewhat adjusted schedule!

Last week saw both the end of Irina: The Vampire Cosmonaut and, in addition, Basilisk did not survive its vote. This, naturally, results in a pretty large gap in our line-up.

Instead of voting in new shows only to promptly go on break and not watch them for several weeks, we thought it would be more interesting to end the POWA year with a pair of screenings with a modified schedule. This week, in particular, rather than split the double-length Astra: Lost in Space episode across the Christmas break, we thought it best to watch all the remaining episodes this side of the New Year.

So, this week will be a triple-length dosage of Astra Lost in Space, on top of our other regular shows! Please double check the unusual schedule below to understand what we are talking about.

POWA’s final screening of the year will be on December 10^th, but POWA will return in 2024 on January 21^st.

Entry for our weekly screenings is $4 for members and $5 for guests – However, your first time is free! Every entry prior to our break receives a raffle ticket for a weekly prize. We will be in the upstairs meeting room, of Joondalup Library. Our doors will open at the same time as the library – 1:00PM and we will start screening at 1:30PM, leaving you time to find the room and settle down with some drinks and snacks.

POWA Screening, 19th November, 2023

Location: Joondalup Library, Upstairs Meeting Room

POWA continues its trend to the end of the year with more screening anime, as last week POWA voted in a new Slice of Life/Romance series, Super Cub! Join us for the super-chill daily life of a girl and her motorbike!

Not only that, this week is the Finale of the space race inspired, Nosferatu-in-orbit, Irina: The Vampire Cosmonaut!

And finally, this week also brings us out first vote on our Mature slot series, Basilisk!

Please note that this month POWA will not be meeting on Sunday, 26^th November as the Joondalup Library is closed to us because of the Joondalup Motoring Festival.
