POWA 2022 Year-End Screening and Retro, 11th December 2022

Location: Joondalup Library, Upstairs Meeting Room

To help us cool off in the heat and close out the year. POWA is hosting a special Summer screening. We will be taking a high dive into 4 shows with a Summery vibe. Who doesn’t enjoy a good beach episode?

Along with the Summer shows there will be a big announcement on the day so stay tuned for that. With another year passing by in the blink of the eye, its time we look back at POWA 2022 with a retrospective. With close to an hour’s run time! It’ll be a good one.

POWA members have nominated their favourite moments from the anime we completed during 2022. From the funniest moments to the most heart-wrenching feels. It’s been a great year for anime and POWA. We hope to celebrate with you and keep the ball rolling in 2023!

POWA will be back in January 2023, where we’ll be voting on shows to keep in our current lineup, as well as continuing our goal of building a great community through our love of anime. Entry for our weekly screenings is $4 for members and $5 for guests. However, your first time is free! Every entry prior to our break receives a raffle ticket for a weekly prize. We will be in the upstairs meeting room, of Joondalup Library. Our doors will open at the same time as the library – 1:00PM and we will start screening at 1:30PM, leaving you time to find the room and settle down with some drinks and snacks.

Screenings

POWA Screening, 4th December 2022

Location: Joondalup Library, Upstairs Meeting Room

POWA’s regular weekly screenings continue with our penultimate screening of the year!

Along with a special FINAL screening planned for the week after. Where we will showcase Summer/Christmas themed shows and episodes. Also as a BONUS treat, we will watch POWAs 2022 Retrospective. Where we celebrate the anime we completed during the year. Including Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor who made it to the round of 16.

We’re still taking suggestions from members on a variety of categories to celebrate each and every series we finished watching in 2022. The form to do so will be open until midnight Friday, December 9 https://forms.gle/biVmk2XfNLvBtmin7. Please ask the Committee if you have any questions.

While the year is drawing to an end, voting at POWA has not. This week we will be voting on TWO shows: Fruits Basket S2 and Log Horizon. Due to technical issues the previous week, Comic Girls and Hinomaru Sumo episodes were delayed. So they will avoid voting, until we return in early January 2023! Where they will join both Kanon and Claymore.

The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie Outing

Location: Event Cinemas Innaloo
Date: Friday December 2
Time: 6:30PM – 8:45PM

POWA is going to the cinemas to see the thrilling conclusion of the romantic comedy anime series ‘The Quintessential Quintuplets’.


The movie starts at 6:30pm, but as we cannot book ahead, we cannot guarantee seats in the cinema. Ensure that you arrive early enough to purchase your tickets at the counter so you don’t end up disappointed.


The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie is described as such:
When five lovely young girls who hate studying hire part-time tutor Futaro, he guides not only their education but also their hearts. Time spent has brought them all closer, with feelings growing within the girls and Futaro. As they finish their third year of high school and their last school festival approaches, they set their sights on what’s next. Is there a future with one of them and Futaro?
