POWA’s regular weekly screenings continue!

Last week, our recent stint of voting in new shows continued with a brand new Sci-Fi show – the very crazy ‘Planet With’, voted in by our members. We also voted to continue watching the second season of ‘Golden Kamuy’. This week, members will decide to either keep watching ‘Fruits Basket’ or end the season at the halfway point.

It’s also important to note that the club’s Committee Year is coming to an end, and thus we’ll be looking for new committee nominations! If you want to lead the club into the New Year, send an expression of interest email to powaclub@gmail.com to get more details. The election for our new Committee will take place on Sunday, October 24th at our AGM held in the Library.

Entry for our weekly screenings is $4 for members and $5 for guests. However, your first time is free! Every entry prior to our break receives a raffle ticket for a weekly prize. We will be in the upstairs meeting room, of Joondalup Library. Our doors will open at the same time as the library – 1:00PM and we will start screening at 1:30PM, leaving you time to find the room and settle down with some drinks and snacks.

POWA’s regular weekly screenings continue!

Last week, POWA starting a BRAND NEW AND SHINY Mature/Horror/Thriller series with yokai filled ‘In/Spectre’. To keep the new shows rolling, we’ll be looking for a replacement for the recently finished ‘Yona of the Dawn’. This time we’re looking for a new Science Fiction show. The thread is already up on our Facebook group and as always you can submit on our website too.

In terms of continuing shows, we decided to finish up ‘Assassination Classroom’ last week with a member vote leading into its final four episodes. This week, we’ll be doing our first vote to decide if we continue on with the second season of ‘Golden Kamuy’. Speaking of voting, as we come up to the end of this Committee year we will also be looking for Committee nominations! Talk to Committee members to express your interest if you want to help run the club next year.

Last week, POWA voted to keep watching our Comedy series, ‘The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.’. Additionally, we reached an intense, yet satisfying end to ‘Psycho-Pass’, which means we’ll be looking for a show to replace it!

This week, the aforementioned Mature/Horror/Thriller show will be chosen by members during our break. Look out for a post on our Facebook Group to start suggesting shows that the Committee can put up for nomination (or just suggest it on our website now). Also, ‘Assassination Classroom’ will have a vote to decide if we continue watching until the end.
