POWA Screening, 22nd November 2020

POWA’s regular weekly screenings continue!

Thank you so much to everyone who came down to our AGM last week. We have a new Committee ready and willing to get back to what we know you all love best – anime.

This week, we’ll be having the first round of voting for our drama show ‘Durarara!!’. It’s up to members to decide whether the residents of Ikebukuro will stick around in our line-up.

Entry for our weekly screenings is $3 for members and $5 for guests. However, your first time is free! We will be at Room 7.101, ECU Joondalup. The doors open at 2:30PM, but the screening starts at 3:00PM, leaving time for you to get settled and buy drinks and snacks.

Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel III

Location: Event Cinemas Innaloo

POWA goes out on a theatre outing to see the final movie in the Fate/Stay Night: Heaven’s Feel trilogy. The movie will begin screening at 6:45PM at Event Cinemas Innaloo. We will be meeting at 6PM.

As we cannot book ahead, we cannot guarantee seats in the cinema. Ensure that you arrive early enough to purchase your tickets at the counter so you don’t end up disappointed.

POWA Constitution Updates for the Upcoming AGM

As announced at recent screenings, the POWA Committee is looking to change some sections of our constitution in order to make the establishment of new Committees more flexible. We presented version 4.0 to the community and have received enough feedback to create a final version 4.1 that will be going up for a vote in the upcoming AGM on November 15th.

Here are the changes we have made between v4.0 and v4.1 based on community feedback:

Section 5.IV
- – v4.0: “During the election, as many Committee Member positions will be filled as possible, with a minimum of two (2) and a maximum of five (5) being necessary for the club to function.”
- – v4.1: ” During the election, a minimum of two (2) and a maximum of five (5) Committee positions are to be filled.
  i. In the event of a Committee with less than 5 filled positions, the duties of the unfilled positions shall be shared between Committee Members in a manner agreeable to them.
  ii. The Committee Member voting process is to be outlined in a separate document, known as “POWA Committee Election Regulations”. This document should be maintained to give all POWA members the opportunity to select preferable nominees while voting.” *
Section 11.I
- – v4.0: “No alteration, addition or amendment of this constitution shall be made unless and until earned by a motion at an Annual General Meeting of POWA.”
- – v4.1: “No alteration, addition or amendment of this constitution shall be made until earned by a motion at a Special General Meeting of POWA, with at least two (2) weeks’ notice given to all members.”

*The “POWA Committee Election Regulations” Document is a newly created document that comes at the suggestion of the community to make the proposed updates to the Constitution be consistent with every Committee election going forward. It will be included in the vote for the Constitution changes at the AGM.

You must attend the AGM to vote for or against the proposed changes to the Constitution. You must have an active POWA membership to attend the AGM, but be aware that it can be purchased from the front desk before the Meeting starts.
There will be minimal time to go over the proposed Constitution changes during the AGM, so please be sure to read and understand the changes before then.
