My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission POWA Movie Outing

Location: Event Cinemas Whitford
Date: November 1st

POWA is off to the cinemas to see the next feature-length episode of the My Hero Academia world – World Heroes’ Mission! As this movie has a wide release, we’ll be changing things up by going to Event Cinema’s Whitford on the second week it’s out.

The movie starts at 4:30pm, but as we cannot book ahead, we cannot guarantee seats in the cinema. Ensure that you arrive early enough to purchase your tickets at the counter so you don’t end up disappointed.

Movie Synopsis:
“When a sinister organization threatens to wipe out all superhuman powers, the fate of the world is on the line. With two hours until the collapse of civilization, Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki manage to work as a team, but there’s still one problem. Deku’s on the run for murder.”

Screenings

POWA Screening, 31st October 2021

Location: Joondalup Library, Upstairs Meeting Room

POWA’s regular weekly screenings continue!

Last week… we had our AGM to reflect on the previous committee’s year and also vote a new one in! As the handover period between the old and new Committee stabilises, it’s time to get back to doing what we do best: screening anime.

On our last regular anime screening, we voted to continue watching the beloved 2019 version of “Fruits Basket”. Also on the cards, (pun intentional) was our new Sports/Games show – the high stakes gambling world of ‘Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor’.

This week, on a not so spooky Halloween screening (depending on which kind of ‘Golden Kamuy episode we get), we are having the final vote for our Mature series ‘In/Spectre’. Members will be able to decide whether we see the solution to the Steel Lady Nanase problem, or not. Since ‘The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.’ is finishing up this week, members should also keep in mind that we’ll be taking suggestions for new a Comedy series soon after the screening.

Entry for our weekly screenings is $4 for members and $5 for guests. However, your first time is free! Every entry prior to our break receives a raffle ticket for a weekly prize. We will be in the upstairs meeting room, of Joondalup Library. Our doors will open at the same time as the library – 1:00PM and we will start screening at 1:30PM, leaving you time to find the room and settle down with some drinks and snacks.

POWA 2021 AGM Agenda

POWAs 2021 AGM and Election day is quickly approaching, and to prepare those who want to participate POWA releases the Agenda for the meeting ahead of time.

The Agenda for the meeting can be found online here, free to view for anyone interested.

The AGM will take place at the Joondalup Library meeting rooms, starting at 1:00pm. The event is already up, and you should follow this link to go straight to it.
