POWA is back after our two week break!
First of all, big thanks for everyone involved in the Evolve Convention weekend; Thanks to people who came along to say “Hi!”, thanks to those who volunteered their time or energies in helping POWA prepare for, run or organize our activities, and thanks to Evolve themselves for giving us the opportunity to attend the convention!
If you are new to POWA Anime Club, either by chance or from Evolve, welcome! This event is for one of our regular weekly screenings; we weekly screen a selection of anime (outlined at the end of the event text!) out of Joondalup Library, every Sunday, from 1pm to 5pm. We do have one caveat; we are a 15+ club, as we do screen series that are rated MA15+. Our website, which you happen to be on right now, has all the details, including a FAQ, links to our other socials including our Discord, as well as links to various interesting items ranging from POWA’s Top 10 anime (As voted on for our Ten Year Anniversary) to our official club constitution. Feel free to have an explore, join the Discord if that’s your kinda thing, and come down to this screening if its got your attention!
With all of that said, this week’s screening:
Last week only had one vote – our Slice of Life/Romance slot series “My Love STORY!!” had its first, episode 4, vote, which it passed, so that continues in our lineup. We do have some voting this week, too! Jujutsu Kaisen, our Action & Sports series, reaches its second, episode 8, vote!
For the sake of prospective new attendees; POWA members vote on our lineup of anime every four episodes – Usually Episode 4, Episode 8, and so on – by a simple show of hands. This is one of the benefits that being a card-carrying POWA member receive when truly joining the club.
But that’s whats on the cards this week!
Entry for our weekly screenings is $4 for members and $5 for guests – However, your first time is free! Every entry prior to our break receives a raffle ticket for a weekly prize. We will be in the upstairs meeting rooms of the City of Joondalup Library. Our doors will open at the same time as the library – 1:00PM – and we will start screening at 1:30PM, leaving you time to find the room and settle down with some drinks and snacks.
