POWA Film Outing – Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, 13th September, 2025

Location: HOYTS Cinema, Joondalup

Before POWA even returns from our Evolve weekend break, POWA is back to the cinemas once more with an outing for “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” – the beginning of the end arcs of the Demon Slayer saga.

The time was polled, and the time was chosen; this time, POWA is meeting at Hoyts Cinema Joondalup, and is checking the 6:00pm session on Saturday, 13th September.

All our standard citations about film outings apply; POWA cannot guarantee seats in the cinema – if you rock up late, or the session just happens to be super busy, you may well miss out on a spot for the film. Check apps, prepurchase tickets – do your checking if you’re concerned. We also won’t be standing around terribly long after the film is scheduled to start – if you rock up late, you’ll struggle to find the group and buy popcorn and gummy bears, so make sure you rock up early instead!

And finally, here’s the provided synopsis for the film:

“Tanjiro Kamado – a boy who joined an organization dedicated to hunting down demons called the Demon Slayer Corps after his younger sister Nezuko was turned into a demon.

While growing stronger and deepening his friendships and bonds with fellow corps members, Tanjiro has battled many demons with his comrades – Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira. Along the way, his journey has led him to fight alongside the Demon Slayer Corps’ highest-ranking swordsmen, the Hashira, including Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku aboard the Mugen Train, Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui within the Entertainment District, as well as Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji at the Swordsmith Village.

As the Demon Slayer Corps members and Hashira engaged in a group strength training program, the Hashira Training, in preparation for the forthcoming battle against the demons, Muzan Kibutsuji appears at the Ubuyashiki Mansion. With the head of the Demon Corps in danger, Tanjiro and the Hashira rush to the headquarters but are plunged into a deep descent to a mysterious space by the hands of Muzan Kibutsuji.

The destination of where Tanjiro and Demon Slayer Corps have fallen is the demons’ stronghold – the Infinity Castle. And so, the battleground is set as the final battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and the demons ignites.”

We hope to see you there!

POWA At Evolve 2025 – Best Anime for a Video Game results

Thank you to every single person who came by POWA’s table at Evolve this year.

As is tradition, POWA asks the Perth public one very simple question; which of these things is the best? Perth hasn’t disappointed us so far with the answer, and continued to not do so this year.

This year the question was “Which of these very carefully selected games has the best anime?” After much humming-and-hawing from everyone who came by (We are sure), the coins were counted, and the results tallied.

Well, with a citation. With Pokémon in the running, it shouldn’t have been too much surprise to see it absolutely dominate the vote – so, really, the question was answered by day 1. To keep the overall vote more interesting, Pokémon was nominated as the clear winner… and promptly removed from the running on day 2. In spite of this fact, it still managed to rank very well overall, which just goes to show the sheer Quality of Pokémon as a franchise.

In any case, here are the tallied results of every show/game from our vote!

#1: Ace Attorney, with 69 votes
#2: Pokémon, with 63 votes
#3: UmaMusume: Pretty Derby, with 51 votes
#4: Danganronpa, with 49 votes
#5: Persona 5: The Animation, with 44 votes
#6: Clannad, with 43 votes
#7: Cyberpunk Edgerunners, with 34 votes
#8: Disgaea, with 16 votes
#9: Arknights: Prelude to Dawn, with 10 votes
#10: Valkyria Chronicles, with 9 votes
#11: Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & The Secret Hideout, with 8 votes
#12: Blazblue: Alter Memory, with 7 votes

The results of this poll will be enshrined, forever, on our polls page here, alongside all of POWA’s previous character votes.

Finally, a note regarding our upcoming events; POWA is on break over the Fathers Day weekend, but we will be screening our regular lineup at our regular location and times starting on Sunday, the 14th of September.

We hope to see you there!
