Belle POWA Movie Outing

Location: Event Cinemas Innaloo
Date: January 22nd
Time: 1:50PM

POWA is off to the cinemas once again for one of the biggest anime events of the year – Mamoru Hosoda’s digital retelling of Beauty and the Beast, ‘Belle’!

The movie starts at 1:50pm at Event Cinemas Innaloo, but as we cannot book ahead, we cannot guarantee seats in the cinema. Ensure that you arrive early enough to purchase your tickets at the counter so you don’t end up disappointed. This will be a screening in the original Japanese subtitled version.

Movie Synopsis:
“Suzu is a 17-year-old high school student living in a rural village with her father. For years she has only been a shadow of herself. One day, she enters “U,” a virtual world of 5 billion members on the Internet. There, she is not Suzu anymore but Belle, a world-famous singer. She soon meets with a mysterious creature. Together, they embark on a journey of adventures, challenges, and love, in their quest of becoming who they truly are.”

POWA Screening & Year-End Retrospective, 12th December 2021

Location: Joondalup Library, Upstairs Meeting Room

Along with our standard screening of our 5 scheduled anime episodes, we’ll be taking a look at all the anime we’ve watched in 2021. POWA members have decided on everything from the funniest moments to the most heart-wrenching feels. It’s been a crazy year for POWA, but we hope to celebrate the good with you all!

POWA will be back in early 2022, where we’ll be voting in new Mature and Fantasy shows as well as continuing our goal of building a great community through our love of anime. Stay tuned to our social channels to see the date we’ll be coming back.

Entry for our weekly screenings is $4 for members and $5 for guests. However, your first time is free! Every entry prior to our break receives a raffle ticket for a weekly prize. We will be in the upstairs meeting room, of Joondalup Library. Our doors will open at the same time as the library – 1:00PM and we will start screening at 1:30PM, leaving you time to find the room and settle down with some drinks and snacks.

POWA Bunnings Sausage Sizzle

Location: Bunnings Joondalup, located on the Corner Sundew Rise and, Joondalup Dr, Joondalup
Date: Saturday, November 20th
Time: Roughly 8am-4pm

POWA is fundraising through a good old fashioned Bunnings Sausage Sizzle!

That’s right we’ll be at the Joondalup Bunnings from morning till noon hoping to fund the next year of events and community engagement. If you’re in the area or want to help the club out, come on down sometime during the day and grab a snag! We’ll be located in the underground carpark.
Sausages will be $2.50 and a variety of drinks will be available for $1.50 – the standard price for both.

Money raised from this event will help in the coming Committee year with things such as;

  • – Regular event room bookings at Joondalup library
  • – Special event room bookings outside Joondalup library
  • – Prizes for the POWA community
  • – Hosting events run by the POWA community
  • – Expanding the POWA community through advertising and special events
  • – And more…
