Online POWA Screening, 30th October.

City of Joondalup is hosting a large event that made it too impractical to run our screening this weekend. So while we wont be meeting in person this Sunday, we are going to have a online screening instead.

Hosted through Discord, we are going to be screening a selection of shows from this current season of Anime – shows that we would otherwise not be able to watch for reasons at our regular seasonal preview (Currently scheduled for the 20th of November).

We will start this watchalong at 1:30pm, but do join early if you need to worry about setup. Metastream and screensharing will be used, but feel free to use your own screen or device as well.

The precise list of shows is still being decided and will, on the night, be open to input. We do suggest it will be a decent idea to have access to HiDive and its shows, though.

If you are not a member of our Discord, join it with the following link:

Next month, the club’s Committee Year is also coming to an end, and thus we’ll be looking for new committee nominations! If you want to lead the club into the New Year, send an expression of interest email to to get more details. The election for our new Committee will take place on Sunday, November 6th at our AGM held in the Library.
If you’re interested in learning more before you put your name down, either ask a Committee Member or take a look at our Constitution and Election Regulation documents here.

POWA AGM and Election, 6th November 2022

POWA Committee’s 2021/2022 year winds to a close.

As such, POWA will be holding this year’s Annual General Meeting. We will cover POWA’s activities in the 2021/2022 year, and be saying goodbye to its committee as we hold our election.

The AGM will be held at Joondalup’s Upstairs Meeting Rooms, starting at approximately 2pm, after the conclusion of the SGM held to vote on proposed changes to the constitution.

This event is a member-only event, and you must have an active POWA membership to attend. If your POWA Membership has lapsed or wish to purchase it for the first time, please do so at our regular screenings or, if unable to make it before the event, inform us ahead of time and we will have one prepared for you.

This event will be FREE to attend, but no raffle prize will be offered. Food, Drink and the Memberships will be available for Purchase.

If you want to raise a topic of discussion or otherwise have questions, but cannot attend the meeting, please email us at or contact us on Facebook – we will discuss your queries and topics during the meeting.

After the end of the year’s recap, we will close the meeting with POWA’s Election. Those who have nominated themselves will present themselves to the gathering for a short question and answer panel, followed by a vote held by those present.

If you want to nominate yourself for a spot on the Committee, please Email us at with your name and your expression of interest. If you are unable to attend the meeting, but still want to nominate, you may run in absentia – you will have a few extra steps to fulfil, but still be able to run. Please email us by midnight on November 5th for your nomination to be confirmed.

You will not be able to vote in absentia – only members who attend this meeting may vote during the committee election.

Both POWA’s current Constitution and Election Regulations can be found here.

Please note that POWA’s SGM will be held on the same day. For information about that meeting, please see here.
