POWA Screening, 29th September, 2024

Location: Joondalup Library, Upstairs Meeting Room

Last week saw POWA’s schedule reach the finale of our Drama series, season 2 of “Chihayafuru”. Which, exciting news, means that this week POWA gets to vote on a new Cultural/Historical series!

As for the screening of this weekend past, we also had voting on a few continuing shows – our Mature, Horror & Thriller series “Psycho-Pass 2” and our Scifi series “Deca-Dense” both reached their second, and final, vote – a vote that both series passed, meaning they remain in our lineup until their conclusion!

Important news, now: POWA’s AGM is scheduled for Sunday, 3rd November! As always with our AGMs, on top of our regular look back on the year, POWA will be holding its Committee Election. If you are interested in running for Committee in the 2024/2025 year, then send an email to us at Powaclub@gmail.com – or if you want more information on what being on Committee entails, contact the POWA committee in any way you deem suitable – facebook, Discord, email, instagram or in person all work very well.

Entry for our weekly screenings is $4 for members and $5 for guests – However, your first time is free! Every entry prior to our break receives a raffle ticket for a weekly prize. We will be in the upstairs meeting rooms of the City of Joondalup Library. Our doors will open at the same time as the library – 1:00PM – and we will start screening at 1:30PM, leaving you time to find the room and settle down with some drinks and snacks.

This week’s schedule:

1:00 – Doors Open

1:30 – My Love STORY!! – Episode 7 (Slice of Life/Romance)

2:00 – DECA-DENCE – Episode 9 (Scifi)

2:30 – Jujutsu Kaisen – Episode 10 (Action & Sports)

3:00 – Break, Raffle & Cultural/Historical voting!

3:45 – NEW Cultural/Historical series!

4:15 – Psycho-Pass Season 2 – Episode 9 (Mature, Horror & Thriller)

POWA Screening, 22nd September, 2024

Location: Joondalup Library, Upstairs Meeting Room

Back in the swing of it after our two-week break at POWA!

Last screening our Action & Sports series “Jujutsu Kaisen” passed its second vote, keeping it in POWA’s lineup. This screening has two bits of note – first, our Mature, Horror & Thriller series “Psycho-Pass Season 2” reaches it second and final vote, while our Drama series “Chihayafuru Season 2” reaches its final episode of its season!

While suggesting shows in the already-up replacement threads is always free for everyone to do, it is a good chance to remind people to check you’ve got an active POWA membership, just in case you want to exercise your democratic rights on whether or not Psycho-Pass Season 2 ends or continues!

Last screening at POWA we also announced two important things; Firstly, POWA’s AGM and election has been moved a week and is now taking place on November 3rd. Secondly, we have officially opened nominations for committee! So now is the time to really play the POWA democracy game, if you so desire!

We hope to see you there!
