POWA Screening, 12th November 2023

Location: Joondalup Library, Upstairs Meeting Room

Special thanks to those who came to POWA’s AGM and Seasonal Previews the past weeks; but now it’s time for POWA’s regular scheduled shows to resume!

New Committee is starting strong with a NEW Slice Of Life/Romance genre slot series for POWA Members to vote on – and if you’ve got a good idea for a show that’s just the most perfect fit for the slot, there is still time to suggest a series – at least, before Thursday, 9th November at 6pm, which is when the Discord thread, Facebook page and Website stop taking suggestions!

Please note that this month POWA will not be meeting on Sunday, 26th November as the Joondalup Library is closed to us because of the Joondalup Motoring Festival.

Entry for our weekly screenings is $4 for members and $5 for guests – However, your first time is free! Every entry prior to our break receives a raffle ticket for a weekly prize. We will be in the upstairs meeting room, of Joondalup Library. Our doors will open at the same time as the library – 1:00PM and we will start screening at 1:30PM, leaving you time to find the room and settle down with some drinks and snacks.

POWA Fall 2023 Seasonal Preview, 5th November 2023

Location: Joondalup Library, Upstairs Meeting Room

POWA’s back with another look at anime currently airing in Japan!

This week we’ll be taking a break from our regular line up to experience some seasonal anime. We’ll be previewing five brand new shows from the Fall/Autumn 2023 anime season.

We can expect a guy who likes beating bad VR games; An Elf mage with a poor sense of time; And an undead guy called Andy, who can regenerate.

It’s the perfect time to check out POWA while seeing the highs and lows of the season. What will you be watching?

POWA AGM and Election, 29th October 2023

POWA Committee’s exciting 2022/2023 year is drawing near.

It’s time for POWA’s Annual General Meeting, which will bring an end to the 2022/2023 committee year and start the 2023/2024 year with a new committee! As always, you must be an active POWA member to attend the meeting, with the shop open to purchase or renew memberships before the AGM begins.

This AGM will cover recent POWA events, recap the committee year, give an update on our financials and end with an election for the new POWA committee. The full agenda of the AGM can be found here: https://docs.google.com/…/16KlJIDYNoqdY9JnkJrUZkID…/edit

If you wish to nominate yourself for the committee, please email powaclub@gmail.com with a declaration of this nomination. If a nominee is unable to be present at the AGM, they will still be able to present themselves to members in absentia. Contact a member of the current committee for any questions on the nomination process.

Members who want their voice and vote heard throughout the AGM but cannot attend in person are able to attend digitally through our Discord server: https://discord.gg/jF4A4tn

Additionally a member may nominate another member as proxy to vote and speak on their behalf. A notice of appointment of this proxy, signed by the appointee must be given to the committee prior to the commencement of the committee. This can be immediately before the AGM in the form of a physical note, or 24 hours before the AGM in the form of a digital message or email.
