POWA’s regular weekly screenings continue!

Last week, POWA members voted to continue THREE series. Yes, ‘Chihayafuru’, ‘Golden Kamuy’ and ‘86’ will all be staying in our line-up for now (’86’ to completion). We also voted to continue our run with the POWA favourite shojo series ‘Fruits Basket’, voting to watch the 2nd Season in our Slice of Life/Romance/Arthouse slot! This week… there’s no voting, which is good because we’re all voted out after last week.

POWA is also on the lookout for a new mascot! To learn more and to tell us what would make your PERFECT mascot, view the survey here.

Entry for our weekly screenings is $4 for members and $5 for guests. However, your first time is free! Every entry prior to our break receives a raffle ticket for a weekly prize. We will be in the upstairs meeting room, of Joondalup Library. Our doors will open at the same time as the library – 1:00PM and we will start screening at 1:30PM, leaving you time to find the room and settle down with some drinks and snacks.

Last week, POWA members voted to continue watching our Sci-Fi show ‘From the New World’ as the show’s mysteries continue to unravel. We also finished up ‘Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S’ with a fun extra OVA! That means a brand new ‘Slice of Life/Romance/Arthouse’ show is needed to replace it. Go to our Facebook page or website to suggest shows.

Along with this vote, we are also voting on three other shows! Will ‘Chihayafuru’, ‘Golden Kamuy’ and ‘86’ continue in our line-up? Or will they disappear into the Shadow Realm?

POWA’s regular weekly screenings continue!

Last week, we voted to continue our Comedy show ‘My Next Life as a Villainess’ to its conclusion. Additionally, though we finished the second season of ‘Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid’ we do have an OVA left to watch! So that’s one more week to think of a replacement suggestion for our ‘Slice of Life/Romance/Arthouse’ slot.

This week we’re voting, for the first time, on whether we continue to watch ‘From the New World’. Every four episodes, POWA members vote on whether we continue with a show or drop it from our line-up.

POWA is also working on a collaborative project! The POWA “Fanzine” will compile articles, essays, reviews, creative writing, art and everything in between into a published magazine. Interested in joining in? Learn more here.
