POWA’s regular weekly screenings continue!

Last week, we voted a new Mature series into our line-up. Well, make that a return to an old POWA favourite. With the first two seasons down, we’re now watching the third season of ‘Golden Kamuy’. We hope the continuing adventures of Sugimoto and Asirpa can be just as exciting this time round.

This week, our members have a vote to decide if our Comedy series ‘My Next Life as a Villainess’ will continue into its final set of episodes. On the light-hearted side of our line-up, ‘Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S’ will have its finale this week, meaning we’ll be looking for a new ‘Slice of Life/Romance/Arthouse’ show the following screening!

POWA is also working on a collaborative project! The POWA “Fanzine” will compile articles, essays, reviews, creative writing, art and everything in between into a published magazine. Interested in joining in? Learn more here.

Entry for our weekly screenings is $4 for members and $5 for guests. However, your first time is free! Every entry prior to our break receives a raffle ticket for a weekly prize. We will be in the upstairs meeting room, of Joondalup Library. Our doors will open at the same time as the library – 1:00PM and we will start screening at 1:30PM, leaving you time to find the room and settle down with some drinks and snacks.

Last week, we chose to keep watching both ‘Chihayafuru’ and ‘86’ beyond their initial 4 episodes. POWA members also voted in a brand new show into our Si-Fi slot – the strange and surreal ‘From the New World’.

This week, the new shows continue! After an epic conclusion to the 100-year journey of ‘Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song’ we are looking for a replacement in the Mature, Horror & Thriller slot. There will be a thread on our Facebook Group and a form to fill out on our website for all shows you want to suggest!

After a fun Seasonal Preview last week, POWA is back with a screening full of voting! Last screening, we finished up the second season of ‘Ascendance of a Bookworm’ (Season 3 is currently airing if you want more). It was in our Fantasy slot, so we are looking for a new Sci-Fi show to replace it. There is a suggestion thread in our Facebook Group and a form on our website to suggest shows. Also, with our Mature show ‘Vivy’ ending this week, it’s almost time to look for a replacement for that, so give it a think.

Both up for their first votes this week are ‘Chihayafuru’ and ‘86’. Every 4 episodes of a show, we ask our members to vote on whether we keep watching or drop it for something else and their time has come!
