While POWA takes a break from meeting in person (see here for more details), we’re hoping to tide the community over with some fun online events! First up is a screening of the 2018 movie, ‘Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms’ by Mari Okada in her directorial debut.

Movie Synopsis:
“The people of Iolph have a lifespan of hundreds of years and maintain their teenage appearances for life, but when the peace of this town is shattered by those who want the secret to their longevity for themselves, a young girl named Maquia is forced to escape. Wandering the land alone, upon finding an orphaned baby she chooses to raise him, but as this boy grows up so the difference in their lifespans is thrown into ever-sharper relief.”

To join in on the event, you’ll need to join our Discord server.
From there, we’ll post a link to a Watch party set up on Kosmi which will allow everyone to sync to the screening through AnimeLab. You won’t need any preparation before this, but feel free to create a Kosmi account beforehand if you want.

The movie will start at 4PM.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask the Committee on any of POWA’s social media platforms. Next week, we’ll be having an online GM to update the community on our current hiatus and our plans going forward.

The Facebook event can be found here.

We hope to see you there!
