As previously announced, POWA is looking to become an incorporated entity from the West Australian government. Our previously submitted constitution, intended to initiate this process, was considered too small-scale and not detailed enough to apply. As such, we have completely rewritten the POWA Constitution from the ground up.
This rewrite is based on the example model rules provided by the WA government, altered slightly to suit the needs of POWA in its current form and in the future. We hope that this rewrite will allow us to continue the application process and become incorporated. Suggestions and feedback from the POWA community on this Constitution will be taken over the next three weeks. We will make changes to ensure that we ratify the best version of the Constitution for our community.
The completely reworked, POWA Anime Club Incorporated Consitution Version 6.0 is available to view in full here.
The document is long and wordy, so it has a table of contents to easily find relevant sections and rules as needed.
For reference, POWA’s previous Constitution, ratified earlier this year, is available here.
A Special General Meeting (SGM) will be held at POWA’s screening on Sunday, May 28th in order to vote for or against the proposed rewrite of the constitution. You must have an active POWA membership to attend the SGM. The full details of this event will be announced closer to this date.
As always, feel free to reach out to the Committee if you have questions via Facebook, Discord, or email us at powaclub@gmail.com.
