Location: Beaumaris Community Centre
This time on our absolutely-for-real-we-promise-these-are-quarterly events (this one is nearly actually on schedule!) It’s POWA’s time to bleep and bloop our way to inevitable loss/victory on our Video Games day!
First, the where and when;
POWA has booked the Beaumaris Community Centre for this event – those familiar with the Tabletop RPGs event we ran a few months ago will remember the room, as it’s the same room. Funny how that works.
Furthermore, we have booked the room for a whole 10 hours, once again – from noon on the 3rd till 10pm that evening. We don’t expect that everyone needs to attend the event for the full length and breadth of the period we have booked – feel free to pop in and out. In fact, if you’re not planning on bringing your own kit, maybe rock up a little bit late – I’m sure POWA’s age-old technical difficulties will rear their ugly heads, so expect us to spend the first… let’s say, an hour or so, setting up.
And now, the how;
This is pictured as a free-for-all kind of event. If you’ve got a console, laptop, steam deck, Ouya or what have you, feel free to bring it. Bonus points if you pack the cables required to make it function – and double bonus points if you have a screen or something to play it on!
The POWA Committee is planning on bringing a number of consoles and a couple of screens ourselves, so we do promise there will be SOME video games regardless of who else brings their kit – but the more screens we have going, the more games can be played.
We want to stress, however, that you are liable for your own kit on the day. We are fully aware that these machines are expensive and, sometimes, delicate – if it gets damaged, broken or stolen, POWA can’t take responsibility. You simply must exercise your best judgement on whether or not it’s worth bringing your very expensive electricity box to a public event, and if you do, to keep track of all your bits and bobs so no one walks off with your controller.
Finally, there will not be any food or drink sold by POWA at this event, nor no raffle prize… but the event itself will be free, and free to all who are interested. You don’t need to be a POWA member to rock up and have some fun, so bring a plus-one if you’ve got one.
The Beaumaris Community Centre is located right across from the Beaumaris shops, including a fish and chips, kebab place and large IGA, so if you’re snackish you’ve got that going for you.

10:00pm – Doors are locked – it is suggested you leave before this point.
