POWA AGM and Election 2024, 3rd November

That’s right, It is that time again, it’s time for POWA’s Annual General Meeting. And yes, that means that POWA’s Committee’s 2023/2024 run is coming to a close, which will bring forth a new committee to run POWA in 2024/2025 in the form of an Election.

If you are interested in running for committee in the 2024/2025 year – Feel free to email us at powaclub@gmail.com, and state your full name, and your expression of interest for running for committee.
If a nominee is unable to be present at the AGM, they will still be able to present themselves to members in absentia. Contact a member of the current committee for any questions on the nomination process. You must have an Active POWA Membership in order to apply for Committee beforehand.

But before the Election happens, POWA’s 2023/2024 committee will be discussing important subjects matters such as:
– What transpired behind the scenes of POWA during their final quarter.
– Summary of events that had occurred over the course of 3 months prior.
– POWA’s financial update through the 2023/2024 year, and
– Review of POWA’s Committee year between the last AGM and this AGM.

Additionally to this AGM agenda, we will also be passing a special motion during the AGM to propose an amendment to one of POWA’s By Laws regarding Anime Selection & Voting Rules. You can view the current and the proposed amendment of both documents down below.
As always, you can only attend, vote and speak in our AGM if you’re currently holding an active POWA membership prior before the AGM commences.

Members may nominate an ordinary member as proxy to vote and speak on their behalf, if that member is unable to attend. A notice of appointment of this proxy, signed by the appointee must be given to the committee prior to the commencement of the committee. This can be immediately before the AGM in the form of a physical note, or 24 hours before the AGM in the form of a digital message or email.

POWA’s Best Boy, Best Girl, Best Ships of Evolve 2024!

The coins have been counted and the results are in!

As decided by the Perth Public (That attended Evolve Perth 2024!) the (Absolutely definitive!) Best Boy, Best Girl, and Best Ship in anime of the last 12 months has now been decided!

Massive thanks to all who swung by and cast their vote; we hope to see all near-300 of you in the future!

With 157 votes from the those with excellent taste, our best boy is “Senshi” From “Delicious in Dungeon”!

With 138 votes from her dear fans, our best girl is “Marcille” from “Delicious in Dungeon”!

And with 136 vote from our lovers of love, our best Ship is “Frieren and Himmel” from “Frieren: Beyond Journeys End”!

But thats just this year. What about last year? Check out our “Hall of Fame” here on our website and see how other characters fared in previous years!

And who knows, 2025 isnt too far away. Maybe it wont seem so long until we have to pick a new set of “Bests”?…

POWA Online General Meeting 3, 27th July, 2024

Location: POWA’s Discord voice chat room.

This Saturday, the 27th of July, POWA will be hosting its third General Meeting of 2024.

All members are invited to attend this meeting to discuss POWA’s ongoing goals, business and situations, as well as an overview of previous happenings that have occurred since the previous GM.

This General Meeting is scheduled to begin at 3:00pm, and so long as you have joined POWA’s discord, you will have all you need to attend this meeting.

If you wish to raise a point of discussion for this meeting that is not in our agenda already, you need to contact the POWA Committee ahead of the meeting – you can do this by messaging the committee on Discord, on the POWA Facebook group or emailing us at POWAClub@gmail.com.

If you are yet to join POWA’s official discord, and wish to do so, a link is easiest found in the “About” field at the top of powaclub.com.

This meeting is expect to take, at most, a few hours and will cover a variety of topics. In order to discuss these topics, raise questions, or vote on any and all motions raised at this meeting, you are required to have an active membership. If you are not an active POWA member, you must obtain permission to attend this meeting from the POWA Committee first, but will not be able to raise any points of discussion or vote on any matters.

If you are a member unable to attend this meeting, you may nominate a proxy for discussion and voting if you so desire. To begin this process, please contact the POWA committee in any of the ways outlined above as soon as possible.

To those who are unable to attend this meeting for any reason, or for those who wish to have a refresher overview of the meeting, the meeting minutes will be made available on request shortly after the meeting concludes.

POWA’s seasonal preview, held on location at the City of Joondalup Library, will be held as a separate event on the 28th of July – the details of the seasonal preview will be posted in a separate event. This general meeting is strictly business and will not have any anime or entertainment scheduled.
