POWA Online General Meeting 1, 27th January, 2024.

On Saturday, the 27^th of January, POWA will be hosting its first General Meeting of the 2024 committee, in our Discord group.

All of POWA’s community are invited to attend this meeting to discuss POWA’s plans for 2024, as well as any topics of interest raised by the community that you want to bring to the discussion.

This General Meeting will start at 3:00pm, and so long as you have joined our Discord, you will have all you need to attend this meeting. Should you like to raise a point of discussion for the meeting, please contact the POWA committee through the POWA Discord group, the POWA Facebook group, POWA’s email at POWAClub@gmail.com, or by letting us know, in person, at POWA’s screening on the 21^st on January.

If you have not yet joined our Discord, but want to do so, a link is available at the top of powaclub.com in the “About” field. You will need to create a Discord account prior to joining our Discord group.

The meeting is expected to last, at most, a few hours and will cover a variety of topics, including what events POWA plans to run in 2024.

If you have any questions, concerns or issues attending this meeting, do reach out to POWA using any of the above listed methods.

To those unable to attend the meeting at the time and day, minutes of the meeting will be made available to those who request them after the meeting.

POWA’s seasonal preview, to be held at Joondalup Library, will be held on the 28th of January, meaning this General Meeting will have no anime scheduled.

Godzilla Minus One Film Outing, 2nd December 2023.

POWA is off to the movies to see nothing less than the king of monsters himself, Godzilla, on the big screen in his first Japanese appearance since ‘Shin-Godzilla’ in 2016, in Godzilla Minus One.

The outing time and location was chosen by the POWA community, and the polled result landed on Saturday, the 2^nd of December, 3:45pm, Innaloo Event Cinema.

For this outing, the film’s distributor Sugoi.co has generously offered 2x Admit 2 passes, meaning that – on a first come, first served basis – your entry may be free.

As we cannot book ahead, we cannot guarantee seats in the cinema. Please ensure that you arrive early enough to purchase a seat, snacks and orient yourselves!

This screening of the film will be in its original Japanese, with English Subtitles.

POWA AGM and Election, 29th October 2023

POWA Committee’s exciting 2022/2023 year is drawing near.

It’s time for POWA’s Annual General Meeting, which will bring an end to the 2022/2023 committee year and start the 2023/2024 year with a new committee! As always, you must be an active POWA member to attend the meeting, with the shop open to purchase or renew memberships before the AGM begins.

This AGM will cover recent POWA events, recap the committee year, give an update on our financials and end with an election for the new POWA committee. The full agenda of the AGM can be found here: https://docs.google.com/…/16KlJIDYNoqdY9JnkJrUZkID…/edit

If you wish to nominate yourself for the committee, please email powaclub@gmail.com with a declaration of this nomination. If a nominee is unable to be present at the AGM, they will still be able to present themselves to members in absentia. Contact a member of the current committee for any questions on the nomination process.

Members who want their voice and vote heard throughout the AGM but cannot attend in person are able to attend digitally through our Discord server: https://discord.gg/jF4A4tn

Additionally a member may nominate another member as proxy to vote and speak on their behalf. A notice of appointment of this proxy, signed by the appointee must be given to the committee prior to the commencement of the committee. This can be immediately before the AGM in the form of a physical note, or 24 hours before the AGM in the form of a digital message or email.
