Free POWA FLCL Screening 2nd June 2018

Location: ECU Joondalup Room 7.101

Ahead of FLCL Progressive being released, we are watching FLCL in its entirety.

FLCL is a coming-of-age story and revolves around Naota Nandaba, a 12-year-old, working-class boy living with his widowed father and grandfather. His life in the city of Mabase is interrupted by the arrival of Haruko Haruhara, who runs over Naota with her yellow Vespa 180 SS scooter, gives him CPR, then hits him on the head with a blue vintage Rickenbacker 4001 left-handed electric bass guitar.

Doors will open at 2:30PM

Free Summer Wars Movie Screening 12th May 2018

Location: ECU Joondalup Room 7.101

Join POWA for its first movie screening of the year, where we’ll watch another film from director Mamoru Hosoda and studio Madhouse, thanks to our friends at AnimeLab.

This is a FREE event!

Doors open at 5pm
Movie starts at 5:30pm

Synopsis: Kenji is your average teenage misfit, who is good with math but not so good with girls and spends most of his free time online in the online world of OZ. His second life is all he knows until it gets turned upside down, by the girl of his dreams, Natsuki, who hijacks him for a starring role as a fake fiancé at her family reunion. Things only get stranger from there.
Running time: 114 minutes

POWA Drafting Event – Force of Will 24th February 2018

POWA members unite for another fun outing with our friends at Good Games Joondalup where we will try out the Trading Card Game Force of Will. We will have some veteran players coming down to help teach us.

Entry to the event will be $25 which will get you everything you need to get started with the Card game. You’ll also get a raffle ticket to the awesome prize POWA will be putting forward.

Soft drinks and snacks will be available for purchase from Good Games throughout the afternoon.

We will also have access to their extensive board game library if card games are not your forte so there is something for everyone.

Force of Will is a Japanese fantasy series centering around two major pieces, a trading card game, and the story articles.
