POWA Anime Club Special General Meeting 2020, 15th November

Location: ECU Joondalup Room 7.101

POWA’s committee comes to its last week of being in office for the 2019/2020 POWA Season, so the POWA committee meet at ECU Joondalup to, one last time, go over what had occurred over the last 12 months and say goodbye to their jobs.
You are still able to apply for committee up to the 13th of November so if you are interested get your applications in quick.
Before the election of the new committee takes place we will be having a vote on the proposed changes to the constitution.

Immediately following the various reports and recaps, the new POWA Committee will be voted upon by the POWA Membership population. This new committee, which will lead the club during the last of 2020 and for most of 2021, will be selected only by Active POWA Members.This means that only active members of POWA, with an up-to-date card, will be able to attend this meeting. If you do not have a valid membership card, please contact POWA ahead of the meeting on Sunday to have one arranged for you when you enter the room.

If time allows after the above events, which may all take up several hours of time, we will screen some Anime to cap off the night.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, but have something that you want mentioned at the meeting, please get in contact with the POWA Committee some time in advance, and we will open the topic to discussion even if you are not there.

This week we will be in room 7.101 at ECU Joondalup. Doors will open at 2:30, and the meeting itself will start at 3:00. Ensure you arrive early enough to buy snacks and food, as well as get settled.

This event will be a FREE event, and no entry is required – although we will not be offering a Raffle prize for the meeting.Drinks, Snacks and Membership will, as always, be available for purchase during the screening.

Seasonal Preview 1st November 2020

Location: ECU Joondalup Room 7.101

No regular screening this Sunday as POWA has it will be Fall seasonal preview. The Fall Line-up of anime looks like a good one – and so POWA brings you a variety of committee selected new series for your viewing pleasure.

Entry at this week’s event will be free, although no raffle prize will be on offer.

This week we will be screening in room 7.101 at ECU Joondalup. Doors will open at 2:30, and the screening will commence right away. Drinks, snacks and Membership will be available for purchase at the front.

Screenings

POWA-THON II -14th November, 2020

Location: ECU Joondalup Room 7.101

POWA is running POWA-THON again as the last one was such a great success. This year we have opportunities for our community to influence how the event will be structured.

This year we are going to be screening anime that have had a game adaptation or have come from a game, we are also going to be screening anime from childhood TV channels such as Toasted TV, Cheese TV . POWA-THON is about bringing these genres into the limelight and celebrating them.

There will be tokens available for you which will allow you to vote on a series of different activities ranging from different anime quizzes to a section of different community games that we will have available for you to pick from. We will also be running a Best Boy/Best Girl competition in a similar style to the one we ran at Madfest last year.

POWA will be using rooms J4.236 & J4.237 at ECU Joondalup.The event will start at 12pm, and run until 8:00pm.
Snacks and food will be available throughout the day to purchase
