POWA Online Screening 5th April 2020

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, POWA is moving its weekly screenings online from the comfort of our homes! These “Online Alternative” (OnA) Screenings will have a different set of shows from our previous screenings. Online stream syncing service Metastream (https://app.getmetastream.com/) will allow everyone to watch shows simultaneously.

Metastream requires all users to have an account to join the watchalong. Please, view this FAQ for more information: https://github.com/samuelmaddock/metastream/wiki/FAQ.
Metastream also provides a timer, allowing you to manually sync your own copy.

You will be able to voice/text chat with fellow POWA members on our community Discord server: https://discord.gg/jF4A4tn. This is by no means necessary and we will link to the Metastream here when it starts.

We hope that POWA and the shows we watch can bring a little bit of joy to you all in this troubling time. If you have any questions, feel free to ask below, or contact us through Facebook messenger, email or Discord.

We hope you all can make it!

This week’s schedule:
——————————
2:30 – Stream starts with time to hang out chat

3:00 – Gamers! (Crunchyroll) – Episodes 3 & 4

4:00 – Hi Score Girl (Netflix) – Episodes 3 & 4

5:00 – Blood Blockade Battlefront (AnimeLab) – Episodes 3 & 4

Details for the Facebook event can be found here.

Announcements

POWA Online Alternative (OnA) Screenings

In our efforts to counter our Coronavirus induced hiatus, POWA is proud to announce our Online Alternative (OnA) Screenings! These will be weekly online watchalongs using the Metastream stream syncing service, essentially replacing our regular screenings. These will have a whole new line-up, focused on short length shows of varying runtimes to fit into one hour slots, allowing us to return to our regular line-up when the hiatus is over.

Since we want as many people to participate as possible, suggestions and voting will be open to everyone, not just POWA members. The first suggestion thread will open on our Facebook group later today. The randomly chosen slots we will be starting off with are:

Slice of Life, Romance & Arthouse
Cultural & Historical
Action

We hope for POWA’s first OnA screening to happen on March 29th. We will be making Facebook events for the schedule and linking to the Metastream, so keep an eye on here for more details. If you have any questions, feel free to on our Discord server.
