POWA Screening, 20th February 2022

POWA’s regular weekly screenings continue!

Last week was a week of continuation. While we voted to keep watching two shows – ‘Ascendance of a Bookworm’ and ‘Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song’, most surprising was the return of an old POWA favourite. In the Slice of Life/Romance/Arthouse slot, members voted in ‘Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S’, the second season of an anime we watched back in 2017!

This week, we have our Drama ‘WorldEnd’ up for voting as we enter into the final four episodes. The longer series, ‘Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor’ will be entering its second half if we vote to keep watching its new arc!

Entry for our weekly screenings is $4 for members and $5 for guests. However, your first time is free! Every entry prior to our break receives a raffle ticket for a weekly prize. We will be in the upstairs meeting room, of Joondalup Library. Our doors will open at the same time as the library – 1:00PM and we will start screening at 1:30PM, leaving you time to find the room and settle down with some drinks and snacks.

The Great POWA Mascot Quest

POWA is on the hunt for a new mascot and we need YOU to help us!

We’re looking to make a design that fits with the POWA community so we’re going directly to them. What would make your perfect POWA mascot? What would they look like? How would they act? You can answer these questions, as well as provide visual references in this survey.

The POWA Committee hopes to gather responses and analyse the likes, trends and ideas in order to create a character reference sheet that can be given to a professional artist. The timeline of this project is TBD, so feel free to think about your responses before you submit!

Discuss, ask questions and throw ideas around in the #mascot-quest room of our community Discord server.

POWA’s regular weekly screenings continue!

Last week, POWA voted to keep watching the very fantastical, yet very chill Comedy ‘Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle’. We have two shows up for voting this week. Members will decide whether we continue on with our newest pair of shows – the second season of ‘Ascendance of a Bookworm’ and the Mature ‘Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song’.

We’ll also be starting a BRAND NEW Slice of Life/Romance/Arthouse show! It’ll have a hard time living up to ‘Fruits Basket’, but we’ll be taking suggestions from members on our Facebook group and the website to help our search.
